There has been some talk lately of concealing guns. In a world we live in where violence runs high should one be allowed to carry a gun? In my opinion having grown up hearing rapid gun fire and seeing people shot and many killed from some angry person who had a beef. I feel that carry a gun for protection can lead to a violent act. Many who do carry guns react with pulling a pistol rather than talking the situation away. You will find many that resort to violence rather than peace. What is the true end result of someone who has shot and killed another over nothing in allowed of cases.

When you lived or have lived in an impoverished area you can hear, see death and guns echoing in the night. What does it prove? What does it mean to take another life? Many make so many excuses for having to carry a weapon. I am a firm believer that it only leads to something negative. I can remember as a young teen living alone in Atlanta in the 70’s being approached by a young heroin thug needing drug money. He decided he want to rob me. He placed the gun to my head and demanded cash. As I refused I calmed myself and turned to what martial arts experience and took the gun from him. I then beat him with the weapon. This might be an isolated case where no one was killed or seriously injured. I also remember reading at the beginning of the year, the number of people killed in Philadelphia. The number climbed to 400 deaths reported. So what do we truly gain from carrying a gun, unless we are out in a field hunting. I feel the only thing gained is someone dies. The person who lives may feel that they protected themselves but at what cost.
